Course
Description: This is a two hour class session that meets once a week for 16 weeks.
We will be meeting every Thursday (unless arranged otherwise) 1-3pm at Grand
Valley State University Allendale Campus in the Calder Art Center Room 1422.
This is where the ceramic art student studios are located. Student is expected
to meet at this location unless noted differently on weekly schedule.
Project #1 Skill
Project #2 Function
Project #3 Concept
Student and Mentor will work together to
further develop the parameters of each projects according to skill development,
personal interests, and time restrictions.
Course
Goals: I hope to cover some of the basic
techniques in ceramics in order for the student to gain a broad introduction to
a conceptual and functional knowledge of clay. The student will learn and
observe useful information about how to market personal artwork, critique
artwork, expand working art vocabulary and be introduced to and work in an art
college environment.
